Jacksonville, FL.  -  From First Coast News WTLV 12

Three students worked hard over the winter break trying to get a break into show business. They are our "Students of the Week."

Rehearsals are underway for the 3 students picked to perform on stage in the Alhambra's first ever open casting call.  "It's my dream. My passion. I love doing it. I have so much fun," said one of the winners, 8th grader Caylin Housley.

Caylin, along with 5th grader Joshua Johnson and 9th grader Tasia Bosch, was picked to be part of the theatre's production of "High School Musical" on stage.

"Dancing and singing and acting have always been part of my life. When I heard about this I told my mom, 'I have to do this,'" said Joshua.

All three are very talented and dedicated to the stage and to their studies at school. Joshua hopes to become a pediatrician. Tasia and Caylin want to keep performing as long as possible.

"I'm big into film acting. I love the theatre but I'd rather keep going with theatre and with film and doing both to see which takes me farther," said Tasia.

"The stage is my home. It's crazy. I feel very comfortable on stage. It's a lot of fun," said Caylin.

The three young performers will all get their chance to be on stage for "High School Musical" at the Alhambra January 30th.
